Genes got him started. Discipline got him here.
Goku looked big and strong from the very start. Everyone who knows him says he has crazy genes, and he doesn't deny it.
But genes don't write your training plan. They don't get you through an injury, and they don't show up on the days you don't feel like it. That part was always him.
He has had setbacks and injuries, more than once. Every time, he came back, adjusted and kept climbing. He trains and eats with the same discipline every day, and he listens closely to his body: when to push, and when to back off.

Discipline
Training and nutrition, every day. Not just when it's convenient.
-
Listen to your body
Push hard, but know when to back off. That's how he came back from every injury.
-
Always up
Setbacks happen. What counts is the next step.

More than his own training.
Goku has coached people in Germany and Morocco to real results, and a growing community follows his training. Some even stop him on the street for a photo. Off camera, he's exactly what you'd expect: friendly, full of energy and always up for a talk about training.
